Account Security
The most important thing to remember is that WS Network will never ask for your password except on the Sign In and My Account pages. Any message asking for your WS Network password is a scam.Avoid password-stealing scams:
- WS Network does not currently request email addresses. We do not send email to users unless you have emailed us.
- WS Network uses TLS to protect your password.
- Never enter your WS Network username or password unless the web address begins with https://auth.wsnetwork.net.
- Look for the "lock" icon in your browser before entering your username and password. This indicates a secure connection.
- Never enter your WS Network username or password into a form in an email.
- Never provide your password to anyone via email or instant messaging.
Remember your password:
- WS Network does not have access to your password.
- We cannot reset your password if you forget it.
Help protect yourself when using public computers:
- Remember to click the Sign Out link (in the upper right corner of every WS Network page) when you are done.
- Closing the browser or rebooting the computer will not log you out.
- No public computer should be considered 100% safe.
Choose a secure password:
- Longer passwords are stronger. A minimum of 6 characters is required by WS Network, but we recommend that your password be 8 characters or more in length.
- Do not use common words in your password. Names, places, and dictionary words can be easily attacked.
- Do not use your birthday, social security number, phone number, or other personal information as your password.
- The strongest passwords use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Do not store your password on your computer. If you must write it down, store it in a secure place and destroy it once you have memorized it.
- Don't use the same password for multiple sites.
